Search
for all Species in an Area
Finding every animal or plants species in an area that you specify is one
of the major high-speed functions for Plants
and Animals of the Box-Ironbark, and the
process is a very simple one.
Find the area to search
You may first select a map theme
you wish to use in your search. Then you
should zoom-in on the area
of interest.
Define the area to search
In Box-Ironbark this process is very simple. Just click the Select
Grid option, move the cursor to the area you want to search, then
click the left mouse button. This will draw a 1-minute grid on the
map. You may then repeat this process as many times as you like
until the entire area you want to search is covered. (Note:
some of the grids may be coloured red because there is, as yet, no data
recorded for them).
Create a list of all species in the
search area
This is done with a single mouse click after which a full list of all
species in the area will be displayed. You may then export that
list, display text and pictures for any species, filter the list on any
characteristics or do anything that can be done with the full species
list.
