Australia
doesn't have jungles with monkeys and big cats, like those of Africa, South America and Borneo, but it does have rainforests which are dark and wet and are full of mosses and vines and ferns. The Jungle Grape is a common vine in southern rainforests and often covers entire trees with its broad, spreading leaves.
The feature that the Jungle Grape takes its name from really is a grape. The plant is an evergreen relative of the deciduous domestic grape vines used for eating fresh, drying for sultanas and raisins, and fermenting to make wine. The Australian species has never been used for any of these purposes as far as we know but it is certain that the large fleshy fruits are eaten by a range of rainforest birds.
