Wallaby
Red-necked Wallaby - Macropus rufogriseus

Ww

What's the difference between a wallaby and a kangaroo? Well not very much, except that kangaroos are bigger and there are only three species (the Eastern Grey, the Western Grey and the Red) whereas there are lots of species of wallaby.

The Red-necked Wallaby is one of the largest wallabies and is quite common in woodlands and forests of southern and eastern Australia. It spends much of its time in dense vegetation where it can hide from predators, like the Dingo, and keeps in the shade on hot days. It eats mostly grasses and herbs and prefers to feed in small clearings surrounded by dense vegetation so that it can quickly run for cover if danger threatens.
