| There are 14 themes in Victorian
Butterflies four of which are related to how the grids are plotted
and the other ten are map layers. Note: In previous editions of Wild Plants there were other layers such as soils, geology, broad vegetation types and land types. It has been decided to exclude them from this edition as the Bioregion layer has become a de-facto combination of these features which are considered to be especially relevant to the distribution of plants and animals.

| Data categories: each colour represents the most recent date (mostly expressed in periods of decades) in which the species was recorded from that grid. | Records per Grid: each colour represents the density of data records for the species in each grid. |
