Image Size
These pictures are mostly 1600 x 1200
(or 1200 x 1600) pixels in size and are suitable for printed publications where a
medium-sized image is required.
Print Size
Most printed publications reproduce
images at 250 to 300 dpi (dots per inch). This means that the
images could be reproduced at a size of about:
- 135 x 100 mm (5.4 x 4
inches) if they are printed at 300 dpi or
- 160 x 120 mm (6.4 x 4.8 inches)
if printed at 250 dpi.
Printed Products
Images of this size have been used
principally for half-page prints in reference books, encyclopaedias,
medium-format field guides and school text books. |
